Product detail
Galvanized refers to the surface of metal, alloy or other materials coated with a layer of zinc to play a beautiful, rust prevention and other surface treatment technology. The main method used is hot dip galvanizing.
Zinc is soluble in acid and alkali, so it is called amphoteric metal. Zinc hardly changes in dry air. In moist air, the surface of zinc will form a dense basic zinc carbonate film. In the sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide and Marine atmosphere, zinc corrosion resistance is poor, especially in the atmosphere of high temperature and humidity containing organic acids, zinc coating is easy to be corroded. Zinc is mainly used to prevent the corrosion of steel, and its protective performance is closely related to the thickness of the coating. Zinc coating after passivation, dyeing or coating with gloss protection agent can significantly improve its protection and decoration.
Cold galvanizing
Cold galvanizing is also called the electric galvanized, it is using electrolytic equipment fitting after degreasing, pickling, into the composition of zinc salt in the solution, and connect the cathode electrolytic equipment, across the tube placed zinc plate, connected to the anode electrolytic equipment, power supply is connected using current from the positive to the negative directional moving deposits a layer of zinc on the pipe fittings, cold is plated fittings galvanized after processing.
Hot dip galvanized
The main method of surface galvanizing steel plate is hot galvanizing.
Product application
The purpose of galvanizing is to form a protective coating of zinc on steel or iron parts. But why is this useful? What are the main advantages of galvanizing?
Prevents corrosive substances: The zinc coating on galvanized metal prevents corrosive substances from reaching the weaker underlying base metal. This can extend the life of the substrate, especially in demanding applications.
Rust prevention: galvanized significantly delays rust.
Create sacrificial anode: The zinc coating is consumed by corrosive substances, so it provides protection for the underlying metal until it is completely used up. Even if the scratch penetrates the coating, the zinc will be used up before the iron.
Durable: The zinc coating formed by galvanizing is tough and long-lasting, often protecting the underlying metal for decades.
Affordable: Galvanizing is a fairly simple and affordable procedure that provides significant benefits with minimal outlay.
Form a thick coat: Although not suitable for all applications, galvanizing produces a thicker coat than electroplating, for example.
Application of zinc plating
The ability to prevent steel corrosion has made galvanizing widely used in many industries.
The most common application is galvanized steel for construction: hundreds of thousands of tons of galvanized construction steel are produced each year to make structures such as building frames, street furniture, fire escapes, ladders and balconies.
Galvanized steel is also common in the automotive industry, where it can be made into rust-resistant components, including most of a car's "body in white" : its skeletal base. Bumpers, beams, frames and chassis can also be made of galvanized steel.
Rust protection is an ideal feature in the telecommunications industry, and telephone lines and electrical boxes are affected by these elements every day. Galvanizing helps to prolong the life of such articles.
